Unmaad
Festival site and ticketing for IIM Bangalore's cultural fest
Unmaad is IIM Bangalore’s annual cultural festival. The site’s job is narrow and busy at the same time: get someone from a link in an Instagram story to a paid ticket, on a phone, while they’re deciding whether to make the trip at all.
What it had to hold
Speakers, events, pro-shows, accommodation, schedule, merchandise, sponsors, contact — and registration threading through all of it. The nav carries nine items because the festival genuinely has nine things people arrive looking for; the design work was making that read as a map rather than a wall.
The look
Deep-space neon on near-black: outlined display type for the wordmark, planets and portals, an astronaut on a rocket, and a marquee ticker for the live announcements that change daily during the run-up. It’s loud on purpose — this is a student festival, and a restrained palette would have been a wrong answer that looked professional.
The whole thing is built responsive down to a phone, because that is where essentially all of the traffic is. Shipped live at unmaad.com.
